Why use a broker?
Finance is rarely needed at a convenient time: a machine breaks down, a big contract lands, or a supplier wants paying on Friday. The bank often wants weeks to decide, and your house as security.
That’s where we come in. We know which lenders like which kinds of deal, which will look past a difficult year, and which will back a new business. You deal with one person from the first call until the lender pays out.
And if your own bank would be cheaper, we’ll tell you. It costs us a deal and earns us the next five.
Our story
Why Goldfinch exists.
Goldfinch was set up in 2024 by someone who had seen business finance from every angle: inside a lender, at a broker, and in a family manufacturing business that ran on CNC machines.
Too often, good businesses were let down. Banks were slow and cautious, and some brokers sent every deal to the same few lenders. We started Goldfinch to do it properly: the whole market, straight answers, and technology that takes the slow parts out of the process, so you hear back sooner.

- Proposals that get read Lenders read hundreds of proposals a week. We write yours the way they prefer, with the facts they need set out first, so your business gets a fair hearing.
- Straight answers A clear yes, a clear no, or exactly what would need to change to make it work. Never a fortnight of silence and a vague maybe.
How we’re paid
Paid by the lender, not by you.
No broker fees: we don’t charge you for our service. When your deal completes, the lender pays us a commission. The amount varies by lender, product and deal size.
