The trade
What makes haulage different.
-
Balloons matched to resale, not to a brochure
A balloon is a larger final payment that brings the monthly cost down. It only helps if it matches what the truck will really be worth by then, so we base it on realistic resale values. Before you sign, we’ll agree how you’ll clear it: sell the truck, refinance or pay it off.
-
Financial standing for the O-licence
Traffic Commissioners want to see money available behind an operator’s licence, known as financial standing. How your finance is set up can affect that, so raise it with us before you apply, not after.
-
Cash from trucks you already own
Trucks you own outright are money sitting still. A lender can release cash against them (refinancing) for a depot deposit, a new contract or more vehicles, without touching the overdraft.
Funding routes
How haulage deals usually get funded.
-
A truck, trailer or van: asset finance
Asset finance £5k–£10m · 1–7 years
New or used, with the cost spread over its working life.
-
Freight invoices waiting to be paid: invoice finance
Invoice finance Up to 90% paid up front
Most of the money now, instead of waiting 60 or 90 days to be paid.
-
Fuel, a tax bill or a one-off cost: business loans
Business loans £1k–£500k · 3 months–6 years
A loan over months or years, or cash from equipment you own.

Questions
What hauliers ask us.
If yours isn’t here, ring us. You’ll get a straight answer from someone who knows the kit, not a script.
Often, yes, through a specialist lender and sometimes over a shorter term. Age and mileage change the term more than they change the answer.
Yes. We’ll arrange them so trucks come off finance a few at a time, not all in the same few months.
Some lenders will, usually with a deposit and a personal guarantee (your own promise to repay if the business can’t). Lenders look at your experience in the trade and the work you have lined up, rather than years of accounts.
