Farm & forestry machinery finance: Finance that works to the harvest.
Farm income doesn’t arrive in twelve equal monthly payments, so your finance shouldn’t demand them. We take your deal to the lenders who know farming and forestry.

The trade
What makes farming and forestry different.
-
Pay once a year, or when the money comes in
An annual plan means one payment a year, usually just after harvest. A seasonal plan means larger payments in the months you’re paid and smaller ones in between. Not every lender offers them, so we go to the ones that do.
-
The land can stay out of it
The finance is secured on the machine, so buying a tractor doesn’t usually mean putting the farm up as security. That matters when the next generation is involved.
-
Contract work changes the sums
If a machine also earns on other people’s land, that extra income can change the right term and payments. Worth a conversation before you commit.
Funding routes
How farming and forestry deals usually get funded.
-
A tractor, combine or forestry machine: asset finance
Asset finance £5k–£10m · 1–7 years
New or used, with the cost spread over its working life.
-
Inputs, a tax bill or a one-off cost: business loans
Business loans £1k–£500k · 3 months–6 years
A loan over months or years, or cash from equipment you own.

Questions
What farmers and foresters ask us.
If yours isn’t here, ring us. You’ll get a straight answer from someone who knows the kit, not a script.
With hire purchase, where you own the machine at the end, the VAT is usually paid at the start: with the deposit, or through a short VAT loan some lenders offer until you reclaim it. With a lease, it’s added to each payment instead. We’ll set out which applies before you sign.
Not on its own. Farm income goes up and down, and lenders in this sector expect that. Tell us early and we’ll take your case to the lenders most likely to understand it.
Yes. Age and hours affect how long you can spread the cost more than whether you can. A fifteen-year-old tractor can be financed, just over fewer years.
